A financial advisor with decades of experience, Gary Fournier earned recognition from Barron’s magazine in 2014 as one of California’s top financial advisors. In his free time, Gary Fournier contributes to multiple charitable and civic organizations, including the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy strives to restore the area’s natural habitat and preserve undeveloped land to be used for educational, ecological, scenic, and recreational purposes. The Conservancy aims to preserve large areas of open space where native animals and plants can thrive and where people from the community can learn about the environment.
The Conservancy accomplishes this with the help of hundreds of volunteers, who are led by staff members responsible for monitoring and maintaining the organization’s conservation easements. To restore wildlife habitat, the Conservancy runs a native plant nursery and propagates over 60 species as part of restoration projects. In addition, the Conservancy’s professional staff of stewards leads more than 1,700 volunteers in planting nearly 23,000 seedlings per year. Lastly, the Conservancy annually maintains more than 40 miles of trails and welcomes over 4,000 students to educate them on the importance of conservation.
