Gary Fournier, a Los Angeles-based managing director for JP Morgan Securities, LLC, has appeared among Barron’s Top 1,200 financial advisors in the nation in a number of recent years. Each year, he has ranked in the top 100 in his profession in California. Gary Fournier is also a dedicated philanthropist who has made notable contributions to groups that support education, children’s and family health, and the environment.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is among the environmental organizations he supports. The conservancy works to ensure that succeeding generations will be able to enjoy the beauty of the natural world. To that end, it acquires undeveloped lands for use as places of public recreation and education.
In cooperation with four municipalities in the area, the conservancy maintains voluntary conservation-related easements on these lands and works to efficiently manage them for the benefit of the community.
The conservancy offers arts-themed events and film screenings and, as part of its ongoing program of public education, an in-depth teacher training experience that allows K-12 educators to learn exciting new classroom activities to increase their students’ interest in nature and science.
To date, the almost 30-year-old conservancy has achieved success with the preservation of more than 1,500 acres on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The land is held in perpetuity as a public trust.
